Jayant Parmar is a bilingual poet writing in Gujarati and Urdu. He learnt Urdu at the age of 30 and began to write poetry in the same language. He is a recipient of the Sahitya Akademi Award for Urdu in 2008 for his collection Pencil Aur Doosri Nazmein. He lives and works in Ahmedabad.
